Museum & Collections

Our museum collections help us visualize the past, from the distant days of early settlement through the changes and challenges of the twentieth century. Current exhibits feature general stores; one-room schools; fraternal organizations, and the domestic arts, such as quilting and wool spinning. Special displays highlight significant events in history, such as the new exhibition that honors Greene-Dreher veterans who served during the Second World War.

In addition to the museum, a small barn on the grounds houses farm equipment from the 1800s and early 1900s. The original root cellar on the property has been restored, and a replica ice house displays vintage ice harvesting tools. Each object has its own story to tell, and when viewed together they help us understand the social and economic development of our community and its role on the larger stage.

Peggy Bancroft Hall and Museum is open to the public during scheduled events and by appointment. For information, please check the Events calendar on our website.
