Jammin’ Jelly Fall Festival

October 3, 2020, 11:00am to 2:00pm - Peggy Bancroft Hall

Author Michael Gadomski at the Jammin’ Jelly Fall Festival.

Michael  Gadomski is an author and internationally published photographer. As a third-generation Wayne County native, he spent his career as a state park ranger exploring, among others, Promised Land State Park. His newest book, Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, features photographs of the park area’s many natural wonders, including the highest waterfalls in two states, a geological anomaly once recognized as a scenic “Wonder of the World,” and historical sites that predate English settlement in the New World. Michael has published eight coffee table books, including The Poconos: Pennsylvania’s Mountain Treasure; and Scenes From the Country Fair, with photographs of 13 country fairs, including the GDS and Wayne County Fairs.

Susan Akers Reichman began writing poetry as a young girl growing up in Greentown and has been writing ever since. As a child she visited her grandparents in the Catskills, and many of her poems are reminiscent of the countryside around their farm, not so different from the land surrounding the Akers family home. Susan writes about people and places close to her heart as a way of safe-keeping family memories for her children and grandchildren. She always wanted to put together a collection of poems, and her first book, Pleasant View, was published in 2004. Susan will offer her second collection, Around Home Poems, about the everyday comings and goings of her South Sterling neighborhood where she and her husband, Paul, raised two sons and have lived for 46 years.
