Bernadine Lennon will set the record straight on the origin of the naming Pike County…and it was not named after the fish! During this presentation, we’ll meet the man who got Pennsylvania farmers “out of the mud” during the Depression; the nationally known writer of the Western genre who helped shape the myths of the Old West; the major league baseball player who “threw smoke because of his blazing fastball; and many other Pike County residents who rose to national prominence.
Bernadine Lennon is local historian, author, and member of the Board of Directors of the Greene-Dreher Historical Society, where she serves as Treasurer and Chairs the Programs and Membership Committee.
This presentation will conclude the 2023 Local History Lecture Series. It is sponsored by our Business Sponsor, Eye Associates of Paupack.
